LW Survey Company (LWS) is a national land surveying firm that provides consulting services to the oil and gas industry. We are currently seeking a full time Civil Surveyor for our Lakewood, CO office to perform control, construction, topographic, and boundary surveys.
Minimum of 10 years of experience working as a survey crew chief performing construction, control, topographic and boundary surveys.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working as a survey crew chief performing construction and control surveys in the Denver metro area.
Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and respectfully with clients and LWS office staff.
Must be able to competently operate survey instruments including GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, automatic and digital levels, etc. Trimble equipment experience preferred.
Understanding of laser scanners and drones a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
Understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
Able to read civil, structural, and architectural plans and perform layout based upon same.
Able to perform construction calculations and staking with little assistance when necessary.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
Must be able to carry equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs. across reasonable distances and over rough and uneven ground surfaces.
Must be able to regularly lift over 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
Must be able to stand and walk over rough and uneven ground surfaces for long periods of time.
Candidate will eventually be expected to mentor and train new field and office hires in proper and accepted surveying techniques and company procedures.
Position requires non-restricted driver’s license with clean record.
Occasional out of town travel should be expected.
Candidate must be a US Citizen.
