At LW Survey Engineering and Design Company, Khaled is in charge of all GPS and Data operations, including processing GPS static and real-time survey, field supervision of GPS survey. Technical support and final data quality control. GPS network design and static network adjustment. Reduction of coordinates to state plane zones and orthogonal elevations. Document Final Survey Reports, proposal estimates for GPS and processing work, property plats supervision for ROW purposes, maintaining Web-Page and data communication network, develop modern techniques and testing new technology.  Work involved: Prelim and As-Built pipeline survey, Fiber-Optic lines, ROW plats, power lines, and Pig-Runs AGM data.

 

Prior to joining LW Survey Engineering and Design Company, Khaled was Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Technology, Kansas State University, where he developed and taught undergraduate courses in Route Surveying, Intro to GIS, Surveying Astronomy, Operating  GIS, Photogrammetry, Advanced Surveying, Advanced GPS, Map Projections, Surveying Adjustments, Subdivision Design, and Projects in Kinematic GPS.

During June-August 1997, Khaled joined Willbros Engineers in Tulsa OK as Data Processor and Technical Advisor, where he developed procedures for processing surveying data, error analysis and quality control, transformation and adjusting surveys from various sources into State Plane Coordinates, GPS network review and quality control assessment, developed and completed a 3-week training session on advanced surveying, Excel programming and GPS surveying. Projects: Great Lakes and Northern Border Pipeline projects.

After receiving his PhD, from the University of Maine, Khaled joined Louisiana State University as a Senior Post Doctorate Researcher. During the time from Nov 1992 to August 1995, he Managed a GPS project for vertical control in Coastal Louisiana (100 x 200 miles for the Barreteria Terribone National Estuary Program) funded by EPA and LA Department of Environmental Quality. Designed the GPS network, trained 25 state and federal employees participating in the project, supervised field survey, data processing, and final report.

Khaled had extensive surveying experience over seas. In Ramallah, Jordan, he served as the Director of Surveys and Managed governmental projects in boundary surveying, geodetic networks, geodetic heights, and property surveying for land registration and taxation. Supervised surveying licensing exams and being in charge of statewide boundary surveying activities. He served as faculty at Birzeit University, developing and lecturing surveying courses to Civil Engineering Students.

His education included, Ph.D. (1992) in Surveying Engineering, Department of Surveying Engineering, University of Maine. Diplom-Ingenieur (1987) in Surveying Science, Department of Surveying and Civil Engineering, Stuttgart University, Germany. M.Sc. (1981) in Photogrammetry, International Institute for Aerial Survey and Earth Sciences (ITC), Enschede, The Netherlands.

Khaled's professional skills included being Registered Professional Land Surveyor  LA 4807, Registered Civil Engineer, Jordan Engineers Association #9808, and Registered Surveyor Pal. #32
